BAFIC Midseason 2023

O BAFIC Midseason 2023 foi a 1ª edição da premiação comemorativa derivada da organização, cujo premia os filmes lançados no primeiro semestre do ano, entre os dias 1 de janeiro de 2023 e 30 de junho de 2023.

Nesta edição, devido à distribuição atrasada no Brasil de alguns filmes, uma parte de filmes de 2022 foram selecionados para competir, já que os votantes não conseguiram os ver a tempo da edição de 2022, são eles: Women Talking, Marcel the Shell with Shoes On, The Whale e Triangle of Sadness.

Os indicados foram revelados no dia 6 de junho de 2023 e os vencedores no dia de 17 de junho de 2023 através do Instagram da premiação.

Contendo uma diminuição de categorias e a adição de uma categoria exclusiva de Filme Mais Esperado, os grandes destaques dos seis primeiros meses foram Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (vencedor de Melhor Filme, Melhor Roteiro Adaptado e Melhor Filme de Terror ou Sci-Fi), John Wick: Chapter 4 (vencedor de Melhor Direção e Melhor Filme de Ação), Air (vencedor de 3 prêmios) e Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 (líder de indicações). Oppenheimer, de Christopher Nolan, foi eleito o filme mais esperado para o resto do ano.
